AI Portfolio Metrics

Purpose​

This document defines the key portfolio metrics for monitoring the health of the conveyor, the speed of progression through stages, and overall performance.

Key ideas​

  • Funnel: the number of initiatives by stage (Idea → … → Business Impact); the dynamics of transitions between stages.
  • Speed: average time to pass a stage or time from idea to production; the share of initiatives that pass a stage gate on time.
  • Performance: the share of initiatives that reach production; the share closed without moving to the next stage (and the reasons).
  • Impact: the total target and actual economic impact across the portfolio; achievement of the value realization plan.

How it works​

KPIs are calculated based on the initiative registry and stage gate events (see data-model, analytics-layer). Portfolio dashboards and reports are built on these metrics. Results are used to review the methodology, stage limits, and prioritization (see ai-portfolio-management).
